How these brands are
broadcasted
By: Johnny Suchit
Taking a look at the Canadian Club (CC) YouTube page, most
of the videos posted pertain to advertising of the brands top products and how Rye is very involved in
the making of this whiskey. The page seems to be a little outdated as the last
video posted was 6 months ago with an ad for the mentioned Rye blend. With 293 subscribers and 7519
views, CC still gets its message across I feel as viewers are given the basic
concept on what this brand is all about and what they are trying to promote.
The pages most viewed video was The Big Red festival which showed how all the
different kinds of CC brands could be included with different kinds of cuisine
from around the world including Lobster which is something I still have yet to
try. The videos overall bring a lot of interest to new viewers who may not be
familiar with the product and as I mentioned, I can’t wait to have some Lobster
with a glass of CC in the future.
Visiting the YouTube page for Chivas Regal presents quite a
different approach. There most recent videos posted few weeks ago look at the
Chivas taste discovery virtual reality experience where users are shown a
virtual tour of the Strathisla distillery, home
of Chivas Regal in Scotland. Nice way to show how there blend is produced and
made from ingredient and first taste process to the barrels used for aging
which create a better and smooth taste, something I still don’t understand to
this day. While the videos average around 160 views, the page does have 7058 subscribers
and over 24 million views. It’s clear that when compared head to head, Chivas
has the more popular vote and really should as the page shows more content and
leaves you with more knowledge and insight into the world of whiskey
preparation and production.
