Whiskey brands communication tool to connect with the public.


The Macallan and Ballantine’s are two whiskey companies that have verified Food/Beverage pages on Facebook. In this blog post we will be analyzing how effective they use this communication tool to connect with the public.

The Macallan is a Scottish whiskey has up to 40% alcohol in market & well known for its taste over the world. By looking at these pictures below we can understand that The Macallan posted usually every second day and their posts include of whiskies and history about their brand so that users can get to know more about The Macallan. By looking at its page we can say The Macallan does adhere to 50/50 rule as every post they have regarding their brand is followed by a post that has indirect regard to the brand. The image below is most popular most on its Facebook page with 859 likes and 65 shares, reason for its maximum likes and shares is because it’s a new cover photo uploaded which reveals bottles of blended whiskey from 1949 to 1954.

Ballantine's is a Scottish whiskey too containing up to 40% in alcohol. Ballantine’s is not quite active on Facebook as it posts around 5-6 posts every month, which are around 2-3 post in beginning and 2-3 post at the end of the month. These posts included pictures of its all kinds of whiskey and a variety of videos of how to drink mix also tis page does not adhere to 50/50 rule as it does not post any updates related to social media. The image below is most popular image in the recent posts with 2400 likes and 120 shares also the reason for its popularity is because Ballantine’s have introduced 12 year old blended scotch whiskey.
